他总觉得那座废弃剧院透着一股邪气，连白天经过都不愿停留。 Tā zǒng juéde nà zuò fèiqì jùyuàn tòu zhe yì gǔ xié qì, lián báitiān jīngguò dōu bú yuàn tíngliú. He always felt that abandoned theatre gave off something sinister, and he would not linger even when passing it by in daylight.
村里人说那口老井透着邪气，谁也不敢去打水。 Cūnlǐ rén shuō nà kǒu lǎojǐng tòu zhe xiéqì, shéi yě bù gǎn qù dǎ shuǐ. The villagers say the old well has something sinister about it; no one dares to draw water from it.
老人常说，心里坦荡的人不怕邪，遇到怪事也别自己吓自己。 Lǎorén cháng shuō, xīnlǐ tǎndàng de rén bù pà xié, yùdào guàishì yě bié zìjǐ xià zìjǐ. The old man often said that a person with an open heart need not fear evil; when strange things happen, don't scare yourself.
