About: 多, 几, two numbers
三十多 · 十几 · 三四个
A round number + 多 is “a bit over”: 三十多岁 “in his thirties”. 十几 is “11 to 19”. Two neighbouring numbers are “three or four”: 三四个. 多 comes after a round number and before the measure word: 三十多个人.
Examples
- 他三十多岁。 Tā sānshí duō suì. He is in his thirties.
- 教室里有十几个学生。 Jiàoshì lǐ yǒu shí jǐ ge xuésheng. There are more than ten students in the classroom.
- 我有三四个朋友。 Wǒ yǒu sān sì ge péngyou. I have three or four friends.
