一样 and 没有: as…as, not as…as

跟 B 一样 means “the same as B”: 我跟哥哥一样高. No 很 is needed. “Not as … as B” is 没有: 弟弟没有我高. 不一样 means “different”, which is another thing.

Examples

• 今天跟昨天一样热。 Jīntiān gēn zuótiān yíyàng rè. Today is as hot as yesterday.
• 我跟哥哥一样高。 Wǒ gēn gēge yíyàng gāo. I'm as tall as my brother.
• 弟弟没有我高。 Dìdi méiyǒu wǒ gāo. My younger brother isn't as tall as me.
