A verb twice: “just have a…”
看看 · 复习复习 · 等一下
Say a verb twice and the action turns short and light, “have a look”, “let's do a bit”. The second syllable is weak: 看看 kànkan. V一下 means the same: 等一下. It is how you ask and suggest.
Examples
- 请你看看我的作业。 Qǐng nǐ kànkan wǒ de zuòyè. Please take a look at my homework.
- 我们复习复习吧。 Wǒmen fùxí fùxí ba. Let's review a bit.
- 请等一下。 Qǐng děng yíxià. Please wait a moment.
