Tones that change
bù shì → bú shì · nǐ hǎo → ní hǎo
Before a 4th tone, 不 and 一 are said in the 2nd tone. When two 3rd tones meet, the first becomes a 2nd. Pinyin is still written with the usual tones. Tap to hear how it's said.
