把…看成: see as, split into

'See A as B' and 'split A into B' are built with 把: 把我看成朋友, 把蛋糕分成八块. 成 comes right after the verb, and what A turns into follows 成. The written twin of 看成 is 视为, often as 被视为.

Examples

• 她把我看成朋友。 Tā bǎ wǒ kànchéng péngyou. She sees me as a friend.
• 别把我看成孩子。 Bié bǎ wǒ kànchéng háizi. Don't treat me like a child.
• 我把蛋糕分成八块。 Wǒ bǎ dàngāo fēnchéng bā kuài. I cut the cake into eight pieces.
