很 + adjective

A 很 + adjective

An adjective works as the verb itself and usually takes 很 in front. Here 很 often doesn't mean “very” at all: 我很好 is just “I'm fine”.

Examples

  • 我很好。 Wǒ hěn hǎo. I'm fine.
  • 老师很好。 Lǎoshī hěn hǎo. The teacher is nice.
