吗: yes-or-no questions
statement + 吗？
Put 吗 at the end of a statement and it becomes a yes-or-no question. The word order stays the same.
Examples
- 你是老师吗？ Nǐ shì lǎoshī ma? Are you a teacher?
- 他是学生吗？ Tā shì xuésheng ma? Is he a student?
