张 and 把: measure words for things
一张 + flat thing · 一把 + thing with a handle
张 counts flat things you can spread out: paper, tickets, maps, tables. 把 counts things you hold by a handle or a back: a chair, a knife, an umbrella. 个 would be understood, but it sounds off.
Examples
- 我有一张地图。 Wǒ yǒu yì zhāng dìtú. I have a map.
- 我买了两张票。 Wǒ mǎi le liǎng zhāng piào. I bought two tickets.
- 房间里有一把椅子。 Fángjiān li yǒu yì bǎ yǐzi. There is a chair in the room.
