快要…了: about to

快要 and 就要 mean “about to, soon”. 了 at the end is a must. With an exact time, only 就要 works: 明天就要考试了. 明天快要考试了 is wrong.

Examples

• 快要下雨了。 Kuàiyào xià yǔ le. It's going to rain soon.
• 我就要走了。 Wǒ jiù yào zǒu le. I'm about to leave.
• 明天就要考试了。 Míngtiān jiù yào kǎoshì le. The exam is tomorrow already.
