像…似的: as if
像 + B + 似的 (= 像 B 一样)
像…似的 means “like, as if”: the same as 像…一样, but livelier. 似的 closes the comparison at the end: 像孩子似的. It can wrap a whole action: 像没听见似的, “as if he hadn't heard”. It's read shìde, not sìde.
Examples
- 他像孩子似的。 Tā xiàng háizi shìde. He's just like a child.
- 她高兴得像孩子似的。 Tā gāoxìng de xiàng háizi shìde. She's as happy as a child.
- 他像没听见似的。 Tā xiàng méi tīngjiàn shìde. He acted as if he hadn't heard.
