固然…但是…: admittedly, yet
A 固然 B，但是 C
固然 says 'admittedly so' — 这个工作固然辛苦. A 但是 / 也, or simply the corrective fact, comes right after: 价格固然高，但是东西不错. Don't swap it for 虽然: 虽然 is the plain 'although', while 固然 concedes the point just before you correct it.
Examples
- 这个工作固然辛苦，但是收入不错。 Zhè ge gōngzuò gùrán xīnkǔ, dànshì shōurù búcuò. The work is admittedly hard, but the pay is good.
- 价格低固然重要，质量也不能忽视。 Jiàgé dī gùrán zhòngyào, zhìliàng yě bù néng hūshì. A low price matters, admittedly, but quality cannot be ignored either.
- 价格固然高，但是东西不错。 Jiàgé gùrán gāo, dànshì dōngxi búcuò. The price is admittedly high, yet the thing itself is good.
