虽然…但是…: although…, but…
虽然 …，但是 / 可是 / 还是 …
虽然 is “although”. Chinese needs a “but” word in the second part: 但是, 可是 (more casual) or 还是 (“still”). Without one the sentence sounds unfinished: 虽然累，我很开心 feels incomplete.
Examples
- 虽然很累，但是我很开心。 Suīrán hěn lèi, dànshì wǒ hěn kāixīn. I'm tired, but I'm really happy.
- 虽然天气不好，我们还是去了公园。 Suīrán tiānqì bù hǎo, wǒmen háishi qù le gōngyuán. The weather was bad, but we went to the park anyway.
- 这个菜虽然不贵，可是很好吃。 Zhège cài suīrán bú guì, kěshì hěn hǎochī. This dish isn't expensive, but it's delicious.
