连同: together with
A 连同 B（一起）≠ A 和 B
'Together with': 连同 joins B to A so that both go into the same action as one package: 把旧书连同旧衣服一起送给了邻居. Unlike 和/以及, which simply list two items, 连同 stresses that B goes along with A in one same action. Mistake: swapping it for 和 — 连同 belongs where the second thing travels with the first.
Examples
- 他把旧书连同旧衣服一起送给了邻居。 Tā bǎ jiù shū liántóng jiù yīfu yìqǐ sòng gěi le línjū. He gave his old books, together with the old clothes, to the neighbour.
- 包裹连同发票一起寄到了我家。 Bāoguǒ liántóng fāpiào yìqǐ jì dào le wǒ jiā. The parcel arrived at my house together with the invoice.
